The Great Lakes Inn & Suites receives a mixed bag of reviews, with recent praise highlighting remodeled rooms and friendly staff. However, recurring issues of cleanliness, pests, and poor customer service – specifically regarding staff attitude and billing discrepancies – significantly detract from the overall experience.
Receptionist bad or shall I say HORRIBLE attitude. Will blame you for things that’s broken in the room. Gave broken towel but he blamed me for it. Bottom part of the wall was broken but blamed me. The bed covers even had holes in them. This hotel is extremely old and their cleaning is horrible as well. I didn’t mind cleaning but arguing about broken towel and the bottom part of the wall was ridiculous. He’s rude and don’t know how to treat customers. I wouldn’t mind coming back here just as long as he doesn’t work here.
This room was really great surprise My room had been remodeled the carpet had been remodeled and felt cozy, the walls were painted nicely the bed was large and comfortable the pillows were fluffy. The owners were hospitable
Great updated room, comfy bed, and clean. Nice and respectful staff. Great hospitality.
Booked through booking.com and had issues. Went in he still gave me the same price. Walking distance to town. Friendly and mostly quiet. Really good budget spot.
Went on a little get away from home, got to eating and seen some bugs crawling on the plate of food we had on the table. Went to take a shower and there were more coming off of the door. Killed one and threw it in the toilet! Son had a bunch of red bumps all over em by time he woke up from a 20 min nap! Left before the night was over with. Went to tell the person at the front desk and all he told me was he’d tell the man that booked me in. No refund and after we left the property they tried to take and extra $100 charge on my car to the $100 prior.
The worst place to stay at I cockroaches everywhere, I have requested a refund for over 2 months nothing back don't stay there plenty of actual nice hotels that aren't disgusting.
The rooms are filthy. The bottom of my feet were black from walking on the carpet. I also immediately began to wheeze from the mildew and mold in the building. I will never stay at this location again and don't suggest you do either. It is the nastiest hotel I've ever stayed at. I'm surprised it passes board of health. DO NOT STAY AT THIS DISGUSTING HOTEL
Staff was nice enough to let us see the room before booking . It was clean . The outside looks sketchy but it’s a good place to stay at . Definitely will be staying here next time in town .
Owner is very friendly and patience. The rooms are very clean, just what you need after some long drive. Bed was soft and the blankets remind me of my grandma's blankets. Only thing i could complain was the AC/Heater unit is a tad bit loud when it runs, but it was still a good night rest. Lots and lots and LOTS of channels on tv, a lot more than any other hotels i have been at!
