Kal-Haven Outpost is a highly-rated campground known for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location near the Kal-Haven Trail and South Haven. Guests consistently praise the well-maintained facilities, including showers, restrooms, and a general store, making it a comfortable and enjoyable base for exploring the area.
The cleanest and most organized organized campground I have visited. Highly recommend staying here. Prices in the general store are reasonable and the facilities and cabins are extremely clean. Great location next to the trail.
The Outpost is a family run campsite that is VERY family and pet friendly. Heather, One of the owners, was so sweet and helpful when we spoke in the general store. The sites are very close but it worked out well for us since we used 2 sites next to eachother. There was a lovely dog run, bathrooms, and shower access. The park was very unique and there's a little pond too! The glamping tents, cabins, and the bus are so cute too. Tons of camping options!
I can’t say enough about the staff here and the property my daughter had her wedding here and it turned out amazing the property is rustic and natural just what she wanted the cabins and glamping tents were perfect and the staff was so nice and accommodating to all requests I can’t say enough good things but we definitely will return and very close to downtown south haven
We stay a lot and absolutely love the campsites. We’ve tent camped, couples cabins, and the schoolie. And all were amazing experiences. The people who run the place are beyond amazing. We booked the schoolie, not knowing the wife’s cancer was going to return. We held out until the wife absolutely couldn’t make it. Which was way too close to time to stay, and Kal Haven refunded our money. They’re are totally amazing and understanding. Highly recommend you check this place out.
What a great little place. Stayed here for a couple days, in the family cabin. The staff were wonderful, showers & bathrooms super clean, the trails are great and will definitely be coming back here again some time, possibly in the fall.??
I’ve tent-camped at Kal Haven twice, and both times were great experiences. It’s a large, well-kept property with a nice shower house/restrooms and a very convenient on-site store (with free coffee). It’s off the beaten path a bit, but still close to South Haven, and not nearly as crowded or noisy as nearby state park campgrounds. I’d definitely camp here again.
I only gave the rooms a 4 because I've never stayed in the rooms/ cabins they offer. But I do know that they take good care of their campground, restrooms, store, and playground. So I'm sure the rooms they offer are worth 5 stars. Also, right next to the Kal Haven Trail?! Oh yeah!
We loved our campsite at Kal-Haven Outpost! We got a partial shade primitive campsite and it was perfect, with plenty of room and a useful firepit and picnic table. Potable water was a close walk away. The bathhouse was the nicest we’ve ever had while camping, super clean and luxurious hot water showers. We loved the “corn crib” in the meadow with comfortable seats. We enjoyed having our morning coffee inside the crib. Our favorite part was being able to rent bikes from the Outpost and quickly hop onto the Kal-Haven trail for a short (~30min) easy (mostly flat) ride into South Haven. We didn’t have to mess with parking and zoomed around town and the beaches with ease. The Outpost also had a well stocked general store and firewood for sale. We can’t wait to return some day soon!
This is a clean, neat place that has things to do right on the property. It has a variety of structures to camp in. It's located near a bike trail. It's pretty close to SouthHaven and, therefore, the lake beach. I can't say enough good things about the hardworking genial hosts, Rob and Heather. The restrooms are very clean with private hot shower rooms. Love this place!!
