Guests consistently praise the immaculate yard landscape and cold beverages, as well as the owner's friendly assistance. The location is highly valued for its proximity to the beach and downtown, though the property is described as quirky with some old-world charm.
Had a great trip in South Haven, from the moment we pulled in with our kayaks and bikes Charlie and Renee were there to guide us to a perfect parking space with a little more length. They were very friendly and accommodating and made our stay perfect. The location was walking distance to the beach and the town's restaurant's and bars. Breakfasts served outside was a bonus too. All and all I would rate our stay a 10 out of 5 we had such a good experience. Keep it up
My husband and I had last minute vacation plans and ended up in South Haven. We were blessed to stay at The Sunset Inn! Charlie, the owner, and Renee, his assistant, were delightful!!! Renee’s green thumb was very evident in the landscape. My husband and I agree it was one of the most beautiful yards in South Haven. The location is great!!! We were able to walk to the beach in five minutes. We were able to walk to downtown South Haven in about 15 minutes. The breakfast hours were wonderful, too! The variety of breakfast items were amazing! I found a new favorite waffle. Our room was very clean. Renee made sure we had everything we needed in the room. Charlie had cold and frozen bottles of water available. (which came in handy for the beach)! We enjoyed sitting in the chairs by the street and visiting with the people walking by. We recommend The Sunset Inn!
We stayed for just a quick 2 nights, but the Sunset Inn is just what we needed it to be. It was clean, it was close to the beach (1 block, maybe 5 minutes from front door to waterside), and Charlie was a great host. Each morning we had a great breakfast-- much more than we expected, and each evening we enjoyed sitting on the porch or at the table in the back looking out on the marina. We loved South Haven so much that we do plan to come back again and stay for longer, and Charlie's cottage might be just what we need for that.
We were very happy with this B&B! Close to everything, short walk to the beach, and the owner and housekeeper were very nice and helpful. They were laid back and made you feel comfortable. The house is old, which is part of it's the charm, but was updated. The owner was very helpful one morning when our car battery was dead when we were going to Saugatuck. He let us have his charger for the day. You won't find a better deal for the price in South Haven. We will definitely go back!!!
Close to the beach, close to downtown South Haven, and a nice place to stay. The bad reviews sell this place short. The Sunset Inn is wonderful for what it is--a bed and breakfast. The owner is very nice and has a breakfast at the little hut every morning. No gourmet omelettes, but yogurt, donuts, cereal, etc. My family has stayed here every year for 3+ years now and we enjoy our stay every time. Spending all day at the beach and coming back to the sunset inn for the evening makes for a great vacation by my standards.
